The Family Table

I Recall My Days Of Childhood,
Though Times Were Surely Rough,
My Parents Were Strong Pillars,
And The Family Very Tough.

At The End Of Every Day,
We Would All Meet Back At Home,
And Gather Around The Table,
No Empty Chair Was Found Alone.

Daddy Seeking The Face Of God,
Every Head Was Bowed In Prayer,
To Bless The Food Before Us,
This Meal For Us To Share.

But As The Years Went Rolling By,
The Family Was Not As Stable,
Looking At The Empty Chairs,
Now Gathered At The Table.

Now I Sit All Alone,
I’m Not Sure If I Am Able,
To Hear The Echos Of One Voice,
As I Sit Hear At The Table
